Accent Reduction Programs

Compton P-ESL Accent Reduction Program - Level 1

• Comprehensive speech, grammar and idiom usage assessment
• Customized curriculum
• Sounds, word stress, intonation principles of American English using speech modification techniques
• Auditory discrimination techniques
• Complete word production
• Voice projection
• Student textbook and CD-Rom
• 50% guaranteed improvement with practice

Class Format:

I. Individuals (one-on-one instruction)

We offer two formats based on instructor recommendation:

a. 1 hour per week for 13 weeks

b. 2 hours per week for six weeks, seventh week is 1 hour

FAQ's for Individuals

II. Corporate Classes (maximum five students)

2 hours per week for 13 weeks

This course covers the same information as the Individual course but requires 13 weeks when conducted as a class.

Accent Reduction Course - Level 2

This course is for students who have completed the Compton P-ESL Accent Reduction program and want to continue practicing and learning with an instructor.

• Customized curriculum
• In-depth study of intonation/linking using Linguistic Mimicry techniques
• Spontaneous speech activities
• Body language for presentations
• Continued practice with problem sounds

Class Format:

2 hours per week for six weeks
